Holiday Festivities in North Myrtle Beach

by Emily Smith

This year’s Great Christmas Light Show in North Myrtle Beach runs from November 23 through December 30, at the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex. Millions of lights will sparkle through the night this year just as they have in years past.

Over 2 million lights will span across 1.5 miles of space, with dozens of displays, animated figures and festive scenes to delight your eyes. Newly created exhibits as well as old favorites will appear as part of the lineup this year, including displays towering up to 55 feet tall.

Each evening at 5:30pm, visitors can enter, driving through the brilliantly-lit winter wonderland, experiencing it in its entirety from the protection of their vehicles. This helps make the Light Show not only easy to enjoy, but also the perfect setting for people to stay in their social bubbles— which remains important for community health.

Admission is $15 per vehicle, limited to a maximum 15 occupants per vehicle. (Larger vehicles, including tour buses, incur a separate fee.)

After the drive, you can enjoy a trip through Santa’s Village, which is open to visitors for jolly fun among the colorful lights, from Friday through Sunday from November 17 until December 13. Beginning, December 17, the village will be open nightly.

The village features numerous opportunities for seasonal photos with friends and family, plus toys for sale, food and beverages. Christmas tree light shows run regularly throughout the evening, making the experience extra special.

Tickets are required to participate in games and rides like Santa’s Express Train Ride and Santa’s Elf Hunt. Tickets are $3, and the more you buy, the more you save.

Set aside your worries for a night and let yourself be taken in by this festive, twinkling world of wonder.

Modifications and extra precautions have been implemented to keep workers and visitors safe during Covid-19, so everyone can enjoy themselves fully without worry. Booths and attractions will have extra space to ensure proper social distance is maintained.

Call ahead or visit the website to find out more information and receive the latest updates on requirements and rules for your visit.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
